🌟 Kasyap Varanasi - Alum Spotlight 🌟

👋 Meet Kasyap Varanasi (he/him), who has joined Brief as a Founding Engineer! 🚀

He graduated in December 2025 with a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

🧭 His journey to the role was hands-on, rigorous, and collaborative. After an initial screening and a conversation with the founders, he completed a work trial project that closely reflected the kind of work he would be doing on the team. He built and shipped a feature end-to-end, followed by thoughtful discussions about his design choices, trade-offs, and approach. The process focused not just on technical ability, but also on how he thinks, learns, and works with others; ultimately leading to his offer.

💡 In his current role, he is working on agents, context learning, reasoning systems, and agent evaluations, while also solving classic machine learning problems. This balance allows him to strengthen his fundamentals while exploring cutting-edge AI systems. His work shows how each project can be an opportunity to grow in system design, iteration, and building intelligent systems thoughtfully and responsibly.
