Meet Shriya Gautam, a sophomore computer science student who completed a Cloud Software Engineering internship with GE Healthcare that focused on using generative AI and large language models to build tools for developers to improve efficiency and ensure software compliance in the healthcare-tech area.

The interview process began with a phone screen with a recruiter followed by a technical interview with a software engineer based in the Seattle office. During these interviews, Shriya demonstrated her technical skills, showed enthusiasm for the role and company, and her ability to learn quickly.

Shriya has advice for others in the middle of their internship search: Don’t hesitate to apply to positions that intrigue you, even if you lack specific experience. The most important qualities to demonstrate in applications and interviews are enthusiasm and the ability to learn quickly. If you're passionate about a particular area, personal projects can make all the difference. They not only showcase your competence but also highlight your genuine interest and commitment to fully leveraging your opportunities.
