Meet Tanmay Agrawal, a Founding Member of the Technical Staff at Plix AI, Inc., a company emerging from Stanford's research lab and backed by Sequoia Arc.
Tanmay's journey to Plix AI started with a LinkedIn message from a recruiter about joining this early-stage team. After an initial call discussing the role, risks, and potential upsides, Tanmay advanced through a rigorous interview process. This included a technical problem-solving session, a 6-hour combined interview covering technical and product design, and a behavioral round. By the end of the week, after discussing compensation and risks at their VC’s office, Tanmay signed the offer.
At Plix AI, Tanmay is contributing to the development of an intelligent body-worn camera designed for security, compliance, and litigation purposes. His role spans the tech stack, focusing on building a self-serve cloud platform that runs vision and audio-based intelligence engines. This platform supports livestream capture, generates real-time security alerts, and provides video analytics. Tanmay is also engaged in product and UX design, through engaging with potential customers, and participating in sales calls and product demos.
Tanmay advises fellow students to “Show and tell!”. He emphasizes the importance of sharing unique and challenging projects on popular platforms like Reddit, Hackernews, X, and Discord. According to Tanmay, early-stage companies prioritize practical skills over theoretical problem-solving like LeetCode, so building and showcasing side projects is crucial for career growth.
Congratulations Tanmay, we look forward to seeing your continued success!
